Folkuniversitetet is an adult educational association with 5 big foundations and works in 46 municipalities that offers a wide range of adult education. The pedagogical approach is based on the idea of imparting knowledge which is of immediate practical use to our students. 

Folkuniversitetet is responsible for allocation of training funds for 150 immigrant NGOs in middle Sweden. Through a long history of activities for immigrant NGos has developed a solid national network in Sweden and other EU countries.

Folkuniversitetet has extensive experience in development interactive training materials for inclusion different immigrant groups in Sweden as Roma, Kurdish, Afghan groups. The training material range from language courses to social orientation and other subjects needed for facilitating integration into the host country. Specialization is adult educational course for empowerment and integration.

Folkuniversitetet has carried out national project concerning training of immigrant NGOs in human rights in Sweden in cooperation with various UN associations in Sweden. Folkuniversitetet has been managing projects form more than 15 years and has developed a smooth routine for PM and QA.

Kerigma cooperates with regional and national networks of NGOs and experts focusing on combating gender-relating violence and support of immigrant women into labour market and society. Kerigma specialises in development of methods for socio-cultural activities for preventing violence through development of socialization skills and rules of interpersonal relationships, as well as overcoming resistance to psycho- therapeutic intervention. Kerigma (PT) has developed a system for quality criteria and monitoring/internal evaluation in EU projects. Kerigma is often engaged in monitoring process in several EU projects.

IKWRO is a UK registered charity founded in 2002 as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation. In response to demand IKWRO has expanded to represent all women and girls from Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan (MENA) communities at risk of “honour” based violence, forced marriage, FGM and domestic violence. IKWRO provides direct services including advice, advocacy and counselling and in 2015 established the UK’s first specialist refuge for MENA women at risk of “honour based violence. IKWRO is regularly called upon to share expertise with government, statutory authorities, NGO’s and the media and to train public service professionals including the police, social services and teachers. IKWRO campaigns for the rights of women and girls and to ensure their safety and successes include the first extradition to the UK from Iraqi Kurdistan of two perpetrators of “honour” killing, the UK’s criminalisation of forced marriage and the first national review of policing of “honour” crimes.

Papatya is a crisis shelter for girls and young women with a migration background who are suffering from honour related violence and need a safe place to hide. Since 1986 Papatya has helped women in emergency situations and assisted them on their journey to leading self-determined lives.

The age of the girls ranges from 13 up to 21 years. They run away from family violence, forced marriage, FGM or honour killing. Papatya offers protection, accommodation and care to this girls.

Papatya accompanies and assists the girls in their conflicts with their families and offer individualized help and advice. The focus of Papatya’s work lies in aiding the girls in planning their future.

The Centre of Gender Studies is a Greek research laboratory of the Department of Social Policy at Panteion University, established by (FEK)Gov. 926/17.7.2006 to cover teaching and research needs in the fields of gender in social policy and policy analysis of gender equality at the international, European, national and local level. The Centre is an evolution of the Laboratory that was created under the interdepartmental program EPEAEK II “Gender and Equality Studies in Political and Social Sciences” and operated during the period 2003-2008. The Centre has been the leader and coordinating institute of two European research projects: Gender, Migration and Intercultural Interactions in the Mediterranean and South East Europe: An Interdisciplinary Perspective (Ge.M.IC.) and Transnational Digital Networks, Migration and Gender (MIG@NET) during the period 2008-2013
